Instruments to find science and scientists at UC Davis

UC Davis is a treasure trove of science and technologies, only a small percentage of which ever reaches the market place. This deprives both the university and companies in many industries of potentially substantial revenues.
To bring more science to market faster, we need a powerful and easy-to-use instrument that companies can use to find science and scientists on the UC Davis campus.

Current tools

UC Davis available technologies can be found at: http://research.ucdavis.edu/u/s/ia.
Search by keyword or category area.

All these technologies are also posted on the:

Published work can be found on:

UC Davis researchers can be specifically identified using the Pivot website. Pivot creates faculty profiles automatically by mining the internet for publications.

Web of Knowledge lets you search published work in all fields, including by a specific principle investigator.

UC is moving towards all new publications freely available through escholarship.org.

The ScienceFinder

Seed Central strongly advocates the development of a tool, or set of tools, code-named the ScienceFinder, which will make it possible for industry scientists to search for UC Davis science of interest to their companies.

A brainstorming session on this topic will take place on November 14, 2013 at 3:30 in the
Plant & Environmental Sciences Building (Room 3001), UC Davis.
